Purpose
The BAITLC Platforms Committee will evaluate next-generation infrastructure and technology solutions, and provide recommended modernization strategies for Administrative applications.
Charge
The BAITLC Platforms Committee is charged with discussing and ultimately recommending to BAITLC, platforms, technology, and best practices that will enable Administrative units to modernize their application frameworks. This committee will consider the following:
- Challenges and opportunities related to application modernization
- Modern infrastructure stacks currently in use by the community
- Available technology provided through existing enterprise campus agreements
- Strategies units can employ to incrementally modernize their environment, vs. a “big bang” approach
- How well solutions fit the existing skill sets and environment of the campus workforce
Assumptions
The following are assumptions that the committee should make:
- No centralized funding will be made available for recommended platforms, beyond which already exists on campus.
Committee Deliverables
This committee will deliver a report that includes a survey of modern frameworks and technology approaches on campus, and recommendations for how units can choose to pursue modern solutions for themselves.
